Electrical resistivity is the only property of physics which give information subsurface moisture content in formation, Hence geophysical electrical survey was carried out to investigate nature shallow formations and geological contact main Gadilam river basin Cuddalore District Tamil Nadu. Twenty-seven vertical soundings (VES) were conducted by Schlumberger configuration basin. Data interpreted curve matching techniques using IPI2 WIN software, layer parameters like apparent (?a) thickness (h) interpretation exported Geographic Information System (GIS). Interpretation distinguishes three major geoelectric layers topsoil, sandy clay layer, clayey sand along zone Interpreted VES sounding curves are mostly four-layer cases QH, H, HA KH type. Investigation demarcates lithology hydrogeological set up employing maximum possible electrode infer saline water freshwater occurrence based on signals. Zone groundwater potential map prepared with combination (?= ?1+ ?2+ ?3+ ?4) corresponding (T= T1+T2+T3+T4).
